There’s a fascinating “next chapter” after the 12 August 2026 total solar eclipse. 🌞🌑
The 2026 eclipse was Europe’s first major total solar eclipse in decades, with totality crossing Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic, northern Spain and a small part of Portugal, while much of Europe saw a partial eclipse. (NASA Science)

2 August 2027 — Total Solar Eclipse
This is the really exciting sequel for Europe. The path of totality will cross southern Spain, North Africa and the Mediterranean, with totality also reaching parts of the Middle East. Spain gets another total eclipse less than a year after 2026. (Wikipedia)
And there is a striking progression:
2026 — Northern Europe / Atlantic → “The Eclipse of the North”
2027 — Mediterranean / North Africa → “The Eclipse of the South”
If you're thinking about a theme for a post or project, I would frame 2027 as:
“The Mediterranean Eclipse: When the Sun Meets the Old World.”
It has a much stronger civilizational/geographical symbolism than 2026: the eclipse moves from Europe's northern frontier toward Spain, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the crossroads of Europe, Africa and Asia.
Then comes another interesting European event:

And there is a nice metaphor here for your broader climate/civilizational work: the Moon temporarily changes our experience of the Sun, but it doesn't change the Sun itself. The spectacle is a reminder of how precisely interconnected Earth, Moon and Sun are — and how dependent terrestrial civilization ultimately is on that larger system.
